The Community Manager Position: part time
The role
This role is easy to describe. It's customer service on steroids. Think of it this way: this person is responsible for every rider and owner interaction and experience before, during, and after the trip. Now most of this work is done by our system, and is completely automated, right? A rider is planning a trip, finds their bike, reserves it, the owner approves the request, the rider pays, gets the bike, returns with a big smile on their face, and the owner gets paid. Right?
Well that’s how it happens most of the time. But there are plenty of occasions where things happen. For example, a rider is trying to submit a request but the system isn’t recognizing their Bulgarian driver’s license. Or an owner isn’t responding to the rental request. Or someone is planning a group ride. Or their credit card isn’t working. Or the rider wants to add a passenger. Or someone has a flat. You get it.
The person we are hiring is going to own all of this, for around 10-15 hours a week, and because we staff this role for 11 hours a day, 7 days a week (riders love to ride all the time) other existing team members will continue to handle the times this person isn’t “on”. So your communication and listening skills must be solid.
This role pays $15/hour. the ideal candidate must be able to work at least two Saturdays a month, and maybe even an evening or two a week.
The work environment
We are a small team, so if you don’t like working with other people, you’ll hate this role. We all work from home, and like what we do. The culture can be fast-paced and intense during the summer, but really slows down in October. We support each other, and love to learn and get better.
Who we are looking for
Someone who understands community – you don’t need to ride, but it’s helpful if you do. Everything we do is online, so you need to be familiar with Google Sheets. You’ll also need to be able to pick up new technologies easily. Nothing we use is complex, but we use systems you’ve never seen before. If this scares you, it’s time to move on.
We also hope that you can have fun, laugh, and not take yourself too seriously.
Twisted Road is growing fast, and we are hiring someone who is looking for a Twisted Road career, not just a job.
