Rider Eligibility Requirements
While we reserve the right to decline membership for any reason, including insurance score, criminal background check, and driving history, the following are the minimum eligibility requirements:
- You must hold a current, valid, unrestricted driver's license, with a motorcycle endorsement, and present your license to the owner when you begin the trip. Your license may not be temporary, probationary, paper, or otherwise limited.
- You must have held a motorcycle endorsement for at least six months, or satisfy our "new rider requirements"
- You must be at least 21 years of age to rent in the United States.
- If you are under 25, we may require you to demonstrate at least three years of current motorcycle riding history in the US.
- If you hold a non-US driver’s license and are renting a motorcycle in the US, you must be at least 25, and you will need to provide a photograph of your license when reserving a motorcycle. We may ask you to show us your passport at the time of motorcycle pickup. There are additional requirements for international residents that can be read here.
- You must possess a mobile phone in your own name that we can verify through text message.
- You must be a registered user of Twisted Road.
- You must have motorcycle insurance, either through Twisted Road, or otherwise.
- You must have experience riding a motorcycle and document this in your profile.
- We take a credit card hold on all rentals, that ranges from $100-1,000. In some instances we may take a higher credit card hold.
- Riders under 25 must purchase our premium insurance.
