Listing a motorcycle for rent
Listing a bike is extremely easy, and all you really need is the license plate and some amazing images. However, this is what we ask for when you list:
- A verified cell phone and email address
- The year, make, and model of the bike
- Number of miles on the motorcycle
- The motorcycle's location
- A description of your bike
- The daily price
- Some great images
Here are some tips for creating your listing:
Description: When writing the description, do your best to describe your motorcycle, not the standard bike. Did you upgrade the pipes? Add storage? Is the bike good for the highway or for the city? Does it have two-up riding? A phone mount?
Strong motorcycle description:
“2015 Ducati Scrambler is vintage yellow - rear fenders chopped for a more cafe racer look. Slick tires, upgraded exhaust, and mirrors for maximum LA curves riding, traffic busting, and sleek style. Clutch and Transmission was overhauled April 2018. Full service and tune up done May 2019.”
Weak motorcycle description:
“2016 Sportster. Great bike!”
Do everything you can to take good pictures. The more that you can show off the experience, the better. We don’t allow pictures of bikes in garages (nobody wants to hang out in your garage), but we love images outside, in a beautiful setting. You want someone to look at the picture and say “I want to be there”.
Also, we need one profile shot, taken outside, without other vehicles or people in the picture.
You can find some examples in this article on Taking Great Motorcycle Photos.
Price: When setting a price, remember the following:
- Motorcycles earlier than 2018 should be priced under $89.
- Newer motorcycles (2018 - 2020) should be priced between $90 and $100
- Larger bikes and bikes with storage can often demand a higher price. Almost never over $125
- Do your best to stay under $99 a day. Ideally, be under $89
The more aggressive the price, the more rentals. It's that simple.
